Associates

The main work of the Seinan Gakuin 4-L Foundation is recruiting, appointing, and providing logistical support for Christian workers we call Associates.

The Associates teach English in the Seinan Gakuin Junior-Senior High School, and this provides the income sufficient to cover their living expenses. In addition, they serve as an assistant to Chaplain Lydia Barrow-Hankins, working mainly with university students.

Associates serve for one-year terms, with two renewals possible.  The academic year in Japan begins in April, so Associates are appointed in the fall so they can go to Japan in March and begin their work the first of April.

Akane Forbess from Arkansas is currently serving as the fourth Seinan Gakuin 4-L Foundation Associate. She began her first term of service at the beginning April 2017.
